Blessings in Disguise

How about that time when you were convinced that your plan was just the best thing since sliced bread?

Then God took a reality check and totally changed things up, leaving you asking questions such as ‘why now’ or ‘why me’? I am sure we could all sit around a table with a cup of coffee and share about times when God had blessings in disguise in place for us, yet we were not the most receptive to notice these blessings.

Mostly because we thought our plan was the only plan.

Blessings are a way to describe how God can pour His favor over our lives. However, blessings in disguise are a way to see God’s protection over us when we did not think that we needed it, nor did we ask for it. When we make our own plans, we create our own timeline.

We know in our minds and hearts that God’s timing is best, but it can be hard to believe that truth when we do not see things coming into fruition.

In God’s timing we are able to see His hand at work as Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven,” this verse reminds us that when we go through trials, there is always a lesson and a blessing on the other side. God does not make us endure hard situations to receive no gains. Blessings in disguise come when we ask God to remove the blinders from our hearts and our eyes. When we think nothing good was coming, God will bless us unimaginably.

When you endure tests and trials, walk prayerfully. Be open to see how God is working, where His favor is, when He is using disguises to bless you. Not only does it prove even more how faithful our God is, but it provides a great testimony for others to grow stronger in their faith. No one enjoys going through trials, and trials to a certain degree we would never wish on our worst enemy.

It is the perspective you have during the trials that transforms your faith and how you see that God moves in every situation.
